We’ve spent months preparing for our latest launch—a new user conference we’re calling Galaxy.
This is an opportunity for our users to talk to each other, compare notes, and listen to people just like them describe what they have accomplished with LaunchDarkly.
We hope you’ll join us for this free, half-day conference on Wednesday, April 7. As part of Galaxy, we’re also offering a short, limited-capacity, hands-on LaunchDarkly training, dubbed Space Camp.
Happening on Tuesday, April 6, you can consider Space Camp the sort of pre-game for the main Galaxy conference. Space Camp will offer two sessions of hands-on teaching and training to help you get more out of your LaunchDarkly installation and set you up for our new certification test. These sessions will guide you through creating and using feature flags, and some basic best practices, while giving you a glimpse of some of our exciting new features. The cost for a Space Camp session is $100 per person, and spaces are limited, so grab your tickets ($100 per person) when you register for Galaxy here.
Below you'll find a little bit more about what to expect at Galaxy.
Hearing from LaunchDarkly Customers and Staff
The free, conference portion of Galaxy will kick off the morning of April 7 with a livestream from an Oakland-area chef taking us through the ins-and-outs of some breakfast classics, such as sweet potato hashbrowns and clafoutis—the best breakfast dessert! The cooking show begins around 8 a.m. PT and, after your coffee has kicked in, we’ll get the show going properly.
Our CEO, Edith Harbaugh, starts the content off at 9 a.m. PT with a talk about how you can expand and extend the value of feature management. Then we’ll have content from customers RyanAir, Hulu, iPipeline, and Pearson Education. The theme of this block is how you can get buy-in for changes to your process, and scale to absolutely massive amounts of data. We’ll do Q&A with all the speakers from that block and take a break to get ready for block two.
Block 2 has great content including stories and code examples about using LaunchDarkly in the wild, and how to make a massive deployment into a group of low-stress rollouts. In Block 3, we are going to talk about the dos and don’ts of migration, keeping your focus, and a panel on scaling, because we know you want to hear more about how that works. The theme of the fourth block is using your tools in the right way to save yourself time, effort, and risk, and make sure you’re delivering exactly what you want with precision. To wrap up your day, our CTO, John Kodumal, is going to talk to us about the magic behind feature management.
Meeting Other LaunchDarkly Users
Of course, your conference day should also include a chance to talk to each other, so we’ll have some networking opportunities available throughout the day. We’ll also have two amazing sponsors, Quantum Metric and Tray.io, so please stop by the booths and see how they could help your team.
And if you’re interested in giving us feedback on how LaunchDarkly is working for you, we’ve partnered with some review sites with incentives to provide your thoughts. You’ll learn more at Galaxy, but basically for each review you complete, you get a $25 gift card, and if you do all four, you get an additional $100, for a total of $200. Finally, at the end of the day, we’re hosting three birds-of-a-feather breakout sessions: interesting uses for LaunchDarkly, mitigating technical debt, and showing off our pandemic projects to each other.
This will be the only LaunchDarkly user conference happening in 2021, so don’t miss out! Register now and we’ll see you there.
