Vercel Marketplace
This integration is available on Developer and Foundation plans
This integration is only available to customers on Developer and Foundation plans. It is not available to Vercel Enterprise accounts.
This topic explains how to install the Vercel Marketplace integration. Installing from the Vercel Marketplace provisions an account and connects it to your Vercel project automatically, with billing through Vercel.
Every project you create through the Marketplace listing is a full LaunchDarkly project. It supports the same features other LaunchDarkly projects use, including progressive rollouts, guarded releases, Experimentation, and AgentControl config management. To learn about the full range of LaunchDarkly features, read LaunchDarkly documentation.
Read Vercel instead if you:
- Want to connect an existing account without going through the Marketplace
- Want Edge Config sync without billing through Vercel
- Have an existing LaunchDarkly Enterprise account
Installing from the Marketplace sets up the following automatically:
- A new account and project, with Development, Preview, and Production environments that mirror your Vercel environments.
- An SDK key and client-side ID for each Vercel environment, synced into your Vercel project as environment variables.
- Sign-in through Vercel SSO. Use Open in LaunchDarkly at any time to access the full application.
Install the integration
Installing from the Vercel Marketplace gives you a LaunchDarkly account, project, and SDK keys connected to your Vercel project without leaving Vercel.
To install from the Vercel Marketplace:
-
Navigate to the Vercel Marketplace and find the LaunchDarkly listing in the Flags category.
-
Click Install.
-
Choose whether to create a new account or link an existing one:
- To create a new account, follow the prompts to provision a project automatically.
- To link an existing account, select it during installation instead of creating a new one. Your existing projects, flags, and SDK keys remain as they are.
-
Complete installation. Your Vercel project now has the SDK key and client-side ID for each environment available as environment variables.
Sync flags and projects
Syncing flags and projects to Vercel lets your team view what exists in LaunchDarkly without switching tools.
Flags and projects created through this integration sync back to Vercel automatically.
Sync targeting to Vercel Edge Config
Syncing flag targeting to Vercel Edge Config lets your flags evaluate in middleware and edge functions without a network call back to LaunchDarkly. You can avoid adding a runtime dependency on a call to LaunchDarkly for every flag evaluation at the edge.
This feature requires the Vercel SDK
You must install and configure the Vercel SDK to evaluate flags at the edge. To learn more, read Vercel SDK reference.
Rotate SDK keys
Rotating your SDK keys from the integration keeps your synced environment variables in Vercel up to date without manual changes. You can rotate keys as part of routine credential management without editing environment variables in Vercel by hand.
Manage billing through Vercel
Billing through Vercel puts LaunchDarkly on your existing Vercel invoice, with no separate procurement step. Start on the free Developer plan and upgrade to Foundation when you need to, both managed from Vercel.
Uninstall the integration
Uninstalling the integration keeps your account and its data intact. Sign-in relies on Vercel Single Sign-On (SSO). Use password reset to get back into your account.
