This topic explains what scheduled segment changes are and how to view them. Scheduling a segment change lets you update the segment’s membership or rules at a specific time you schedule in advance. For example, you can add a group of contexts to a segment at the start of a beta program or exclude contexts from a segment during a maintenance window. You can schedule any change that you can make to a segment’s targeting. This includes adding, removing, or editing rules in a rule-based segment, and adding or removing targets in a list-based segment. You cannot schedule changes to synced segments, because their targeting is managed in the source application. Scheduled segment changes are different from scheduled context removal. Scheduled context removal sets an expiration date on one context in a segment’s included or excluded targets. A scheduled segment change applies any set of targeting changes at a future time. To schedule changes to a flag’s targeting instead, read Scheduled flag changes. To learn how to create and manage scheduled segment changes, read Creating scheduled segment changes and Managing scheduled segment changes. Scheduled segment changes apply to one environment at a time. To make the same change in more than one environment, schedule it separately in each environment.
